I'm sure that many of you reading this article are full-time employees with established careers. Some of you may be wondering whether to start trying to conceive, or are already pregnant and will soon be going on maternity leave, and are trying to balance your personal and career life.

Many people who have worked as full-time employees for many years are aware that there are maternity and childcare leave systems in place, but for those who are committed to their careers, this can be a cause for concern, as they may worry that this leave will affect the career they have worked so hard to build.

Today, I would like to talk about how women who have built their careers as full-time employees can make the most of their maternity leave and child care leave .

The courage to let go

Have you ever lost or given up something that was important to you?

It could be a gift from a loved one, or a breakup with a loved one due to a broken heart, or a sudden stop of activities with a favorite idol, or, in terms of career, retirement or a career change. I'm sure we've all experienced letting go or losing something at least once or twice. I myself have let go and lost many things, including heartbreak and retirement.

Letting go of or losing something important comes with the pain of a sense of loss and anxiety, and I'm sure we all think that if possible, we never want to go through that again!

But what happened when you had the courage to let go of something important, or accepted the loss of it?

What was gained from the lost space and time

I believe that letting go or losing something important also means that a new space or blank time appears.

Perhaps new, important things and time are being born in the space and void that has emerged.

Newly discovered favorite things, knowledge you didn't know before, new encounters, etc.

And do the experiences and time gained through these newly accepted important things take away the presence, memories, and achievements of the things we once let go and lost?

I don't think that's the case at all. The things that were once important to you remain, but through new encounters and experiences, you may have become a more attractive version of yourself and have discovered new joys and pleasures .

Maternity leave and childcare leave are "part" of your career

During periods of time off work such as maternity leave or childcare leave, why not take advantage of this time to make the most of new encounters and experiences that are different from what you've had before?

Of course, you need to make thorough preparations for childbirth and childcare during your maternity leave. Also, you may be so busy with your baby that things don't always go as planned, and you may not have time to enjoy new experiences.

However, the time before and after childbirth and the period when a child is 1-2 years old is also a time when there is a lot of support for parents and children from the government, families, and private services. Please be grateful for the support available and try to enjoy the experiences you can only have now, which you would not have had if you were living a work-centered life.

Think carefully about what is important in your life, and discuss your future with your partner. Listening to the stories of not only those who balance their careers and personal lives, but also experienced parents who are proud to be full-time housewives and husbands, may give you a new perspective. It's also a good idea to savor the casual daily interactions with your children and discover the joys they bring.

The experiences you gain during your maternity leave and childcare leave will neither interrupt nor slow down the career you have built up until now, but will surely become an accumulation of your polished career . I hope you enjoy discovering a new you .

If you are still worried about taking maternity leave or childcare leave

However, you may still be worried about when to start trying to conceive, or you may still be anxious about taking maternity leave or childcare leave.

At times like these, it's a good idea to sort out your thoughts and ask yourself, " What are the barriers that are preventing you from taking the first step toward trying to conceive?" or "What is the reason you can't be positive about your upcoming maternity and childcare leave?"
